About
You’re Searching for an Answer
Maybe you’ve been searching for a while.
Perhaps someone you trust told you to come here. Or you came because you’re tired, of trying, of explaining, of waking up to the same tension in your chest that you can never think your way out of.
Whatever brought you here, sit with this for a moment.
You’ve been doing the work. The therapy. The reading. The understanding.
You can probably narrate exactly what happened, why you’re like this, what the pattern is.
And still, you can’t seem to move it.
Here’s why:
The story about what happened? It lies in your mind.
The actual wound? It’s somewhere else.
The Four Doorways
People come to me with different ways of naming it.
The kind you can point to. An event. A relationship. A period of life that broke something.
Patterns that won’t shift. The drinking, the spending, the rage, the shutdown, the things you reach for to manage what you can’t feel.
It’s not always one big thing. Sometimes it was a bunch of small things, repeated. What was missing just as much as what happened. What no one named at the time.
Or you don’t know what to call it. You just know you’ve been stuck for a long time, and you’re done waiting for it to somehow change on its own.
These look different on the outside. Underneath, they’re often the same wound, speaking different languages.
What’s Actually Keeping You Stuck
What’s keeping you stuck doesn’t live in the part of your brain that you think with.
The thinking brain is fast at building stories. It can name what happened. It can analyze the pattern. It can map the cause and the effect and the family system and the trauma response.
You can understand yourself perfectly and still not get free.
The wound itself, the part that won’t let you sleep, won’t let you trust, won’t let you rest – it lives somewhere else. In the subcortical brain, where the experience got imprinted before you had words for it. Your body has been sending you messages ever since because brain and body are one unit.
Through talking about it, you’ve been knocking on that door for years. But the door doesn’t open from there.
That’s why you’re still stuck.
You’re not doing this wrong. This is how you’re wired.
How Brainspotting Moves It
Where you look affects how you feel. That’s the principle David Grand built Brainspotting on.
Every day, without thinking, your eyes find comfortable and uncomfortable places to rest.
It works with the subcortical brain, the layer underneath the thinking brain, through a spot your eyes connect to.
During a Brainspotting session, you stay awake. I stay with you. Your body does what it’s been holding back from doing.
There’s no reliving the past trauma. No forcing anything. No shortcuts.
What’s been frozen in you finally gets to move through. The wound that’s been waiting for permission finally gets it, which allows it to complete.
Trauma moves. Unwanted behaviors loosen their grip. Childhood material settles into the past where it belongs.
All that stuckness, which is really the same wound speaking different languages, finally has somewhere to go.
Several Modalities, One Container
The emotional wounds you carry don’t just show up in one part of you. They show up all over your life. In your body. In your patterns of feeling, thinking, and acting. In your relationships.
They’re visible in various parts of you: the inner critic, the part of you that protects, the inner child that’s still small and afraid.
Brainspotting is the container that holds the whole picture.
Inside it, I bring parts work, attachment, psychodynamic understanding, somatic resourcing, and archetype work. When it helps, I explain in plain language how your nervous system actually works.
This isn’t a toolbox. It’s an integrated approach. You don’t have to choose which kind of therapy is right for you. My approach meets you wherever and however your wounds show up.
And, of course, we still talk: before we set up, after we finish a batch of processing, and sometimes in between.
In my approach to therapy, talking it through happens inside the Brainspotting frame. It serves what your body is doing.
What It Feels Like with Me
You don’t have to be brave on demand. You don’t have to have the words for it. You don’t have to know what you’re doing.
You don’t have to leave your defenses at the door. Bring them in. They’ve been protecting you for a long time. We’ll work with them, not against them.
I’ll be on time. I’ll show you real respect.
My clients tell me I remember everything. I’ll remember what you tell me, the small things and the big ones, so you never have to keep starting over. Being remembered is part of feeling safe, and safe is where this work happens.
I’m not going to push you past what your body can hold. I’m going to follow your nervous system, listening for what’s ready, holding the frame when it gets hard, letting tears be medicine. Quiet is a welcome part of this type of therapy.
There will be hard moments. There will also be more space than you expect. More humor. More breath. More you, in the session with me.
This isn’t trauma therapy that asks you to be terrified. It’s trauma therapy that meets you where you are and gently guides you out of wherever you’ve been stuck for so long.
What Unfolds Over Time
You start to feel the ground beneath you. Then you start to trust it.
You start to feel the part of you that’s been waiting. It’s still there, and it remembers.
You stop carrying the wounds around. The wounds shift. They don’t run you from behind the scenes anymore.
You start to live forward instead of looking back. You start to choose. You start to expand.
You start to feel whole.

Meet Trish
I care deeply about the people I sit with.
I’m a certified Brainspotting therapist and licensed clinical social worker.
Trauma is my specialty. I’ve been in this field since 2006 and in private practice since 2017.
Where My Approach Came From
I work with clients the way I do because I experienced the benefits of this type of approach firsthand.
I did the talk therapy. I knew my story. I understood my patterns.
And yet, something underneath still hadn’t moved.
Then, Brainspotting reached it. What I’d worked on for years finally made sense. I felt it. And I knew I had to learn how to let other people experience it.
I didn’t get out of college and become a therapist. I spent years in the corporate world first, and then I left it for this. Once I knew what this type of work could do, nothing else came close.
I know how frightening all of this can sound from the outside. That’s why I keep it plain and go at your pace, so you understand what’s happening in your own brain and body instead of just getting through it.
Training and Approach
I’m a certified Brainspotting practitioner, trained across its full range and still deepening that study.
Whatever you’re carrying, there’s a way in. Brainspotting reaches the trauma you can name, but it can also reach the trauma that has no story, the wound that was already there before you had words for it. It reaches the patterns getting in the way of what you’re capable of. It also reaches the behaviors that won’t shift through willpower alone.
Inside the Brainspotting frame, I bring everything else I’ve trained in: parts work, attachment, somatic and sensorimotor approaches, Jungian depth work, and a long foundation in psychodynamic and cognitive therapy.
You don’t have to know any of those names. Just know that I draw from a deep well of training and knowledge. In each session, I calibrate what we do to what your nervous system is asking for that day.
Clearing the wound is only half of it. What you build in the space that opens up is part of therapy, too. That’s post-traumatic growth, and it’s a key part of how I can support you.
Therapy with me happens in weekly or bi-weekly sessions, or in Focused Personal Intensives, depending on what you’re ready for.
My job is to guide you through. Yours is to become who you really are.
A Little About Me
When I’m not in session, I’m quiet, and a little slow on purpose. I notice things, about people, about small details, about how it all fits together.
I read more than I finish. I’m always learning, always sharpening my intuition.
The person you meet in session is the same one you’d meet anywhere: someone paying close attention, who remembers.
Kind Words
Thank you for guiding away from the toxicity of my past, allowing me to look forward to the years for a healthy, happy, and prosperous life.
– Ruth
A weight has been lifted off of me. It was a crazy shift. There’s no more fear in that anymore.
